211 SE tube amplifier working in class A2, drive tube is 300B, prestage tube is 6SN7 or 6SL7 SRPP.. 300B is driven by XE-20S, plate direct connect drive 211 tube.

Instead of working in class A mode, high volt and low current drive, this amplifier is working in class A2 which is low B+ volt and high current. Plate current is up to 120mA, plate volt is about 550V. Dynamic coupling, using 300B drive 211 tube.

Generallyto let amplifier working in class A2, you have to use interstage transformer or cathode follower because at class A2, there is current in grid. This amplifier does not use both above method. It use 300B drive 211 tube dritectly from plate to grid with load transformer is output transformer XE-20S.

Sound is perfect, especially the bass sound of class A2 is quite different with class A, very sexy and hot. It is more dynamic than class A1.

This amplifier need strong OPT to drive 211 tube, it must handle plate current up to 120mA, power transformer is very rare too. It is very difficult to make the same one with same part.
